Free Realms Population Is Growing Quickly

Only several days ago, logging in to FreeRealms.com to play the promising new World of Warcraft styled MMO offered one of six servers to choose from, any of which had a “Low” population at any given time of day or night.  This week, that server count increased to eight and all of the servers were filled to “Medium”.

This was reflected by the amount of activity in the game where I encountered a lot of new faces and busier streets.

This also increase in traffic fortunately seemed to also bring greater stability as I was able to play for a full four hours without any server kicks or shutdowns.  For a moment there (or a half day in this case) I almost felt like I was getting away with leveling a new character in Fireforge…

There were a lot of quests to get done and my list started filling up faster than I could complete them.  Yes, there were also a lot of quests I couldn’t do unless I “upgraded” to a paid account (US $4.95 a month – which is better than WoW’s $14.95 a month).  At one point I wondered what high level content might exist in Free Realms.  Are there mozzies big enough to substantiate a Raid group?

We’ll have to wait and see.  In the meantime, it’s mini-games galore.
